Mirandolina, te drága, Divadlo Thália Szinház

The favourite comedy of Carlo Goldoni, Mirandolina, is elegant, sometimes charmingly clumsy, sometimes painfully acute, once melancholically resigned, once a boisterously funny comedy. The comedy is a classic play from the ink of the Italian playwright but thanks to the adaptation of Tamás Ferkai, the play becomes more fresh and the story more surprising. In cooperation with István Mikó, they enriched the prosaic text by catchy Mediterranean melodies. You don’t have to be afraid for Mirandolina – every man falls in love with her, she knows men, she is an independent, intelligent woman who leads a prosperous, always crowded inn. But it isn’t enough in a society where a woman is obligated to get married, and where it is very difficult to decide what is more powerful: money or social status? Of course, when we talk about a real woman, it is difficult to know when she is being honest and when she is playing, when she is doing and speaking the words coming from her heart and when she is just telling the words that the others want to hear. When she is showing her real face of a sensible and vulnerable woman and when she is knowingly and wilfully using her woman arms.
